3.8 Electric fan Conversion Wiring

RE: 3.8 Electric fan Conversion Wiring
When I first hooked up my taurus fan I was having problems with wires melting on me and the fan wouldn't come onand in turn almost overheating my car. So what I did is hooked up the high speed of the fan to athermostat I bought at Advanced Auto. I then took the low speed of the fan and wired it to a lightedswitch inside the car. This way when the fan went on automatically with the thermostat the light on my switch inside the car would go on--kind of a piece of mind knowing that the fan is working like it should be. If something should happen that the fan don't come on(like wires melting) I still would be able to put the switch on in the car and have the fan on low until I can find out why the high speed didn't work. I have pretty thick wires going to the electric fan now so I'm not having issues with wires melting any more. Just my$.02
