replacing alternator
I've just replaced my alternator since the bearing were cracking hard! Since I have to commute every day from Perris, Ca to San Diego (160 miles round trip!!!) it was a must have item. Anyway, I bought a new alternator from "Kragen" about $143.00 not too expensive. The removal was easy. I first removed the negative side of my battery, then I started removing the clips from the old alternator. After that I started removing the belt then I removed the only two bolts that hold the equipment. Easy as almost one, two, four
The install was easy too. Here are some pics of my car and the install.

RE: replacing alternator
Damn dude, I paid $100 for mine at CarQuest but that's cost since I work for Ford...it's outrageous the mark ups they put on parts...you either need to work at a place that has accounts at car part place or know someone who does.

RE: replacing alternator
I know parts aint cheap and you are right, if you do not belong to a certain club or have some time of discount parts are going to be more expensive. Sometimes it is car parts or food on the table..........though descision.......
