1984 mustang convertable 4g's should i get it?
i am looking into getting a mustang i wanted a 1989-1993 5.0fox body cause i like how they look, but my brothers friend has a 1984 mustang convertable BUT The fram is a 1984 and the Extiror and Intiror is a 1992 *thats the words that came out the guy that has it mouth* i saw it but not the hole thing cause it was in his garage and no space to look at it all, i saw the side and it looks like a 1992 mustang,
its a Forest green with a lighter green design on it,a level 1 clutch,a rebuilt engine, and has some new mods added to the engine but forgot what they were, and a New convertabil top. he is asking 4,000 for it cause he needs to get rid of one of his cars so he can build his studio in his garage,
so if i got this 1984 mustang do you guys think it wont make a difference cause it looks like a 1992 fox body, would i get the same feel like i would from a real 1992 fox body 5.0?
is this bad or good?

i would rather see you get a 92 over the 84. larger brakes (important if you ever want to move to 5 lug wheels), much stronger rearend (8.8 vs 7.5) dbl hump crossmember.
you need to see if he switched eveything over interior wise, he could have kept the fugly dash and rear peices.
4,000 is to much for a 84 imho. last four eye i bought was an 86gt with new paint and a bad tranny for $800. the only advantage the 84 has over the 92 is that is carbed already.

Well my brothers friend did not switch it out the guy who switched it out was the owner b4 him, I Saw the inside of the car but did not pay attetion to the dash, what is so wrong with a 84 dash? i been trying to find a fox body mustang i cant find any good ones and the ones i do find are ugly and all messed up and they want like 6 thousand for them. but this is the best one i saw for the cheapest he wanted more but needs to sell one of his cars to make room for his studio he building. His uncle use to have a shop and he was the one that pulled out the engine and rebuilt it and all. But if i did end up getting this 84 mustang, do you guys think it would be very bad idea? or is he still a good year or car to have, im hoping it wasnt a bad idea to sold my 03 xtreme, cause i want to pay off the lil loan im getting from my mom to get the car and then be able to fix it up more, i was told by him that there is nothing wrong with it, it can even be drivin out of town with out no problems

look for something better, even though I love the four-eyes, switching over is a big job and requires ALOT of time and effort to do it right, most people that do it, do a half-assed job at converting it

'84 anniversary 'vert is rare, but now that it's chopped up....i'd pass
if it was for sure a gt350 anniv car, you might want it to restore it back, but if your not loking for a big project, i'd walk
