since its supercharged I'd buy the msd btm it has built in retard an added feature for when you up your boost you can manually retard the ignition to reduce possibilty of detonation

ORIGINAL: stang8689

get the tfi harness, it plugs into your coil and allows easy install, check any mustang supplier
The harness makes installation so much easier.....(and if needed) removal is easier too!

I got mine for under $20

i'll be the left thumb of this thread and tell you to buy a crane fireball ignition system. why? because it has all the features of a msd 6al, plus you dont have to swap chips (buy chips) to change your rev limit, and the rev limiter lets the motor go "whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" instead of the msd limited which is more like "pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop" (pop-pop-pop is no-damn-good for your motor)

Since you have boost, spend the money to get an ignition box that has boost retard built in. This allows you to run a higher initial timing and have it retard as the boost builds.

The digital 6 plus has worked great for my car. I have it bolted to clear plexi-glass in the engine bay, i have never had a problem with heat damaging it. The box has a two stage rev limiter and retard switch for starting car and for nitrious, you just use a small flat-head and adjust to whatever rpm's and how many degrees you want to retard. The stock dist. is probably a good idea, i just sheared 5 teeth off of my MSD dist. I hope the dist. was bad and not my cam gear or retainer plate. I have not checked yet.
