i agree with irish. an ebay 460 is just asking for trouble. Now the block for a 460 is as cheap as a 5.0 block in some areas. I got one for 310 dollars. and i dont know exactly how much your buyin this motor for but you can do a lot more with a bbf for a decent price. in all honesty a powerglide will be a good idea. as much as im opposed to a gm tranny, i have to say they are the best for performance. good luck.

You are 100% correct. noone does. but if you are reffering to the 1500 hp u said you would make with the tt 347, well u dont need 800 ci to make that powerwith a bb. and you can do itn/a. but if your asbguy than stick wit it.
ORIGINAL: luckythirteen13

we are talking street car tho. who runs a 800ci motor in a street car. for the hp hes making im simply saying it would have been cheaper and lighter to do it with a SB.

now if i had a boat.......turbo charged BB all the way[sm=icon_rock.gif]

460 is a bolt in, but you'll probably need to tweak the crossmember for a glide.

do us a favor, when you do put the 460 in take lots of pics. tons of people post about wanting to do a big block swap. it would make a good sticky.
make a parts list and keep track of the money you spend. will help a lot of people out.

Depends on tire size. I'm going with 4.10 and 32" tire with the glide. BB does need as stepp of a gear as a SB because of all the low end torque.
