I am not sure if your calling us idiots or if you mean there were not many adapters available when people changed out the stereos, I have always purchased wire adapters, much easier and smarter.

You have a point there, Hell, when I had my 79 fox back in the early 90's I still used an adapter for the new stereo. Maybe people are getting smarter these days about how to put in a stereo correctly, but there is always someone too cheap to buy the adapter.

Well bad news, got the adaptor all wired up, and no go! And no I didn't screw it up red to red green to green, I'm not a total idiot! Problem is the stock wiring does not match what the color codes are supposed to be. I got to looking and it appears to me that there is one common ground for all the speakers??? I thought that went out with the dinisaurs! WTF! I guess I'll have to go to alternate plan C. Why would my '90 be this way???

RE: radio wiring diagram?
My '93 had a factory Amp under the passenger seat where all the speakers where wired to. I did my stereo system almost 3 years ago so I do not remember the exacts...
But I remember pulling it because it is garbage...maybe some of your problems lie there??

No, amp under the pass seat. Seem like some lousy wiring from the factory! I can't believe that they were still using the common ground in '90, but it seems to be the case.
