ok so last nite i broke the ****ing bolt on my main cap, i drilled a hole in it today to put an easy out in it and that to broke. now its impossible to drill threw that easy out so any chance of me taking that bolt out is not happeneing. i just called a couple of machine shops and asked them how much it wood cost to take the bolt out and they were all giving me ridiculaouse prices. they have to take the hole thing apart, hone the walls, replace all bearing, replace piston rings and then get the bolt out and then put everything back in. that **** comes out to be like $800 at least cause they dont know how bad the bolt is in there and what not. my motor only has 500 miles on it and i dont know about u but i dont wanna ****ing pay 800 freaking dollars to get a stupid *** bolt out!!!! im pissed. what shood i do?

They are just phising for more business...find a shop with a wire edm (IIRC), I think that's what its called. It's an electric discharge tool that blasts out metal such as stuck bolts from holes so that the threads can be cleaned up or fixed with inserts.

I broke a rocker arm stud in my brand new TFS heads and then i broke the easy out in it too. I ripped off the head and found some on with the diamond bits and drilled it out and whatever else. it looke like nothing ever happend. It costed me 100 bucks. Just need to go to a machine shop that doesnt want to hit your over the head and take all your money. good luck.

yes taps impossible to drill out ,,you need to get an punch and try to get it to turn out,,if not chip it out....

get a different block and put all your parts in it...

i have a stock 302 but then the money to get that machined for the 347, and then to have a builder take the 347 out of my block and put it in the new block will probably cost as much as if i just get this one fixed
