When the car is at normal operating temp. turn the car off and see how hard or easy the fan is to turn. It should be fairly hard to turn, if it spins real easy, replace at least the clutch or the whole fan and clutch, or an electric fan out of a 3.8l, late 80's Taurus.

a new fan clutch is like 40 bucks at autozone... super easy to do and if that doesn't fix the problem you could probably return it anyways

yea i did replace the cap. Is there something real quick that i can look for to tell if its the fan clutch?
