Fuel problem????
I was driving and my car just died, I am guessing the fuel pump because I do not hear it anymore, but it could also be the relay or many other things?? I attached a picture with voltage readings,,,,, any ideas? (1992 mustang gt)

RE: Fuel problem????
if your getting a 12 volt reading on the fuel pump side of the relay then its the pump. before replacing it though just to double check, verify that your inertia switch didnt trip by pressing the button on top of it to reset it and if it still doent work then replace the fuel pump. you can also verify by sticking a sewing needle in the wire going to the inertia switch and the wire exiting the inertia switch going to the fuel pump and then jump the 2 with a piece of wire to connect the loop, if it works then you know its the inertia switch.

Test for 12v before the inertia switch, then test for it after the switch. AAnd if you are still getting power all the way down.. THEN unplug the harness at the tank and test for 12v there..
I'd hate to see you replace a bump because someone didnt wanna test properly... could be as stupid as a bad wire in the exterior harness to the tank
TEST EVERYTHING before replacing anything

+1 on the connection at the tank, good catch adder. what we are trying to say is just be damn sure its the fuel pump before you change it because nothings worse than dropping a tank and replacing the fuel pump only to find out later that it was a measly faulty wire.
