Default Tensioner Pulley Bolt ROUNDED....

Ive rounded that bolt on my tensioner pulley to the point i cant move it to replace my belt. The wrench kept slipping off including my inexperienced-ness on working on cars ive round the bolt and im not sure what to do...Any ideas i needa replace my belt really bad.

see if you can pry on it somehow. or cut the old belt and replace the tensioner.

o or if you have a large pair of vice grips just get them as tight as possible. but replace the tensioner or just that bolt.

all you have to do is wedge the back of a long wrench in between the tensioner and push down and the belt will slip right off

If you ever run into rounded off heads like that though, in an open area...run down to Sears if you've got one near, and buy a set of theirdamaged boltremover sockets, for the hex end, not EZ outs. They don't cost a lot. The inside of the socket is sharp. How it works is you get the right size, slip it over the bolt head, then smack it with a hammer. The edges inside dig into the head, when you twist it with a ratchet it cuts in even more, it'll come right off. They work great.
