I have a Holley, they are mostly all made by walboro. Mine was a direct swap, no wiring or modding to fit. It's a 255 and I would def recommend an afpr. I have a Kirban, they're about 80 bucks.
I also have a holley and i've had no problems. Really easy swap. Get a afpr. If you planning on swapping to a 351, it's just one less thing to worry about buying. I also doubt very much that if you put a 255 the gas will heat up to the point where it will create a problem. As far as a 190 goes, don't waste your time. It's not that much more for a 255 and the 255 is way worth the money, imo

Can someone explain to me how replacing a stock fuel pump with a pump that pumps 65 more liters per hour (?) doesn't make it so your engine gets too much gas. Not saying I don't believe it...I just like to know how things work.

5.0s have a return fuel line that so any fuel the engine doesn't use gets returned to the tank and recirculated. Thats why on the KB site it says an overiszed fuel pump will heat gas up thus causing a reduced octane level. What i'd like to know is how much this gas is actually heated or if it's just a technicallity that helps them sell their Boost-a-Pump.

Our cars have a return type fuel system. You can pump as much as you want, but your engine will only use what it needs and thenthe rest goes back to the tank. The reason for that is to help keep the pump cool from not pumping under extra load.

Edit...beat me....

just becuase it says 255lph doesnt mean it pumps 255lph, it will only pump what the engine uses
That is correct in a way. Your pump will pump more than the engine will use, but it might not really pump 255lph due to different things like fuel line sizes and fuel rails.

I have a BBK 190. It is also made by Walbro. I wasted $30 extra dollars. I would go 255,I only got the 190 cause I got a deal on it.
