Default Cam: valve to piston clearance

In a stock '91 302 ( with stock hydra roller lifters, pushrods, rockers, and springs ) will a .480 lift, 224 duration cam (ford racing, m-6250-b303) cause valve to piston clearance issues ? Or must I break out some modeling clay to really know? Any thoughts or tips greatly apprecieated. Thanks

This engine isn't going to be raced or anything even close to that. I just want a bit better than stock that will be gentle enough on my stock springs. The engine is out and apart for other reasons.

so get something like the steeda #18, or even a TFS1

also... your stock springs can barely handle your stock cam.... it would be wise to upgrade them ANYWAY

There shouldn't be any piston to valve clearance issues but its always possible. The crank keyway on stock motors can be off as much as 8 degrees in either direction so the cam must be degreed for maximum performance. Most cams especially motorsports, comp, and crane are advanced 2* when installed "straight up". Your best bet is to pull the heads and clay the pistons as well as degree the cam at the same time to make sure everything is up to snuff. Taking the little extra time could save your motor.
