I know that a 351 fits right in, all you have to do is modify exhaust, but what about if your using EFI, will the stock wiring work or do you need to rewire stuff?
What are all the problems you would run into?

Well I was looking at buying a shortblock from ford and I saw that they had a 302 Shortblock for 1300, with pistons, rods, crank, etc. And then they had a 351 shortblock that came with forged stuff in a sportsman block. I want to build an engine for this car from a shortblock, going to be a N/A street machine, what do you guys think? The 302 shortblock for 1300 is pretty tempting......

youll need a 351 w ac bracket,,,,for as F/I i dont know about wiring...sorry it bolts right in the stock mounts ,,,some times the 302 headders works try them first....and a differnent dist 351w are not as same as 302 ..351 as bigger oil pump drive shaft and oil pump differnet ,,also push rods are longer,,,diff, lower intake ...all i can think of for now.....good luck go with the 351w its the only way man!

yeah buddy i agree with the rest, go with the 351w. i just did the 351 swap, n boy is it sweet, as far as ur wiring, everything u can use, its all the same, dont touch, except i dunno if u have mass air or not, if u dont definately convert. and for your fuel rails, ull have to get a longer hose for the front and back to connect the rails. and the power steering, A/C, and alt. brackets hafta be changed cause the 351 is wider. alright man good luck, hope urs is as sweet as mine. 400+ horsepower!!

Im going to build a 351 off the shortblock that Ford sells. Its a 351 sportsman block complete with internals and all, not sure if they are forged.
Wait just checked, it comes with forged aluminum pistons and forged steel rods. No cam or timing chain included. 3200 I think. Summit Part No. FMS-M-6009-E58
