Default Important Transmission Question

Does anyone know if an AOD transmission from an 85 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 will fit a 95 ford
F150 with the 4.9L V6 300 motor? I need to know so I can safely sell it to a buyer.

is it 4wd or 2wd? if its 4 then I dont think it will because the transfer case would need to bolt to the tranny

He's talking about your truck being 2wd or 4wd. I have an '88 F-150 and the Haynes manual I have for it says that the earlier ones used the AOD, but in 1988 they switched to the E4OD, which is electronically controlled. Technicallyit may be able to bolt right up, but I don't know enough about autos to tell you how you would go about it or not or what you would have to do to switch from the E4OD to an AOD.

PS It's a straight-6 not V-6 [8D]good engine though

The AOD will bolt to the 4.9 liter inline six.

The linkages and driveshaft may have to be altered however...

I dont think you could pot an AOD in place of the electronic version without some serious modificaitons... but I could be wrong...

You are correct.
The stock electronics would have to be disabled.
