Bad Oil Pan Gasket?

Bad Oil Pan Gasket?
My car has been sitting for about 2 1/2 months for the winter...and quite frankly, I can't take it anymore. So I have been getting it ready for the new year. As I prepared it to go back out after the snow melts, I noticed it has a slow oil leak underneath. It seems to be coming from the oil pan gasket. Has anybody ever replace one of these w/out a lift?? If so, do you have to remove most of your front end for this?! I guess my main question is...... Is this something I could do myself? Thanks for your help!

RE: Bad Oil Pan Gasket?
my friend changed his oil pump with the motor in the car; i think you would need to take the motor mounts and a few other things loose(probably the exhaust and some stuff on the top of the motor like hoses and linkage) and jack up the motor, but it can be done. Beware of the hoses going to the heater core, if you stress them too much you will bust the heater core and the heater core is a b*tch to get to.

Timeout, have you ran it at all since you put it away and noticed the leak? If so, then it could be just a drain plug gasket, because the oil level is below the gasket, when sitting.

I dont know if your talking to me or SShadowSSin but i started it up and drove it a few weeks ago when it was nice and my drain plugs were leaking alos both of them and i put new ones in from 50resto that solved one leak and now I have a leak were the tranny hooks up to the engine it started last fall but got a little bigger this spring so I am gonna fix it when school is out.
