Default 28" tall tires...

Hey will a 28" tall tire be too tall for normal driving?, Will it make my 4.10's seem like 3.73's? Im just wondering how it will effect my car.

I also heard that it will improve my traction and 60' times is this true? And the tire measures 27.7, but when I mount it on the rim will the weight of the car make the tire 27 or 26, would it make the tire shorter if you let out a little more psi?

the taller tire will take away some rpms at the top end, that is they will require less rpms for the same road speed so the car can actually reach a faster top end speed than it could with the shorter tire before the engine runs out of rpms. when I changed from a 26" slick to a 28" slick my rpms dropped from 6,200 to about 5,700 at the finish line in the 1/4 mile.

so its better to have the taller tire on the street for better gas mileage. Or how tall is a 275/50/15?

Ok im getting 275/50/15, they are 25.6 tall. just perfect., heres a new question I currently have 245/60/15 they are 26.7 tall, How much will it throw off my speedo by going to the shorter tire? Say if im going 40mph how fast will my speedo show if I have a shorter tire?

the circumference of the tire is what matters. the taller tire has a circumference of 83.88" while the shorter one is 80.42" around. the difference of 3.46" is about 4.12% smaller than what's on there now, so the speedo will be off by at least that amount and the engine speed will increase by that amount also since the car will go less distance for each revolution of the shorter tire. this will naturally have some minor negative affect on the gas mileage also.
