Default Help with GT-40 head install

i got a set of arp head studs that are 7/16 and the space for the stud in the head is a 1/2 i called a ford tech line and they say that all i need to do is install the washer then the nut and not worry that the dowel pins will hold the head in place does this sound correct? is the stud supposed to have play or is it supposed to fit snug? the washers that i got kit are flat.

If I were you I think I'd do it right, and get 1/2" studs, drilling and tapping the block as necessary. It'd sure suck if your heads shifted on its gasket at a couple thousand RPMs.

You need the inserts like the ones from Summit Racing. The 5.0 uses 7/16th bolts, the 351W uses 1/2" bolts.
