Default STRANGE fuel pump issue

Hello...changed fuel pump...car still wont start...hooked up fuel pressure guage and no pressure...Now went back to the tank and pulled the pumpback out...with the key on i can hear the pump pumping but instead of pumping gas it is making the pump work in reverse...it is blowing bubbles in the gas instead of pumping it...anyone figure that one out...short maybe...does the ignition switch have anything to do with that problem...90 GT stock if any of that matters...when i bench tested the pump with 12v it pumps fine the way it is supposed to..I hook it to the car and it makes the pump work in reverse...anyone please

Just a guess but maybe it's hooked up backwards?

well here's the thing I got it running...I bench tested the fuel pump and 12v got it to spurt gas...the factory had the fuel pump wires crossed. when i plugged in the fuel pump to the red clip on the car it was reversing polarity...switched the wires and bingo...been tearing my hair out for 2 days...now onto why this thing loses power when it is hot...Pro50 I got your pm and it won't happen again...thanks for your response too...

TFI module, on the side of the distributor.

Just loosen it, turn it so you can get to the screw. You can pick up a small tool that will fit in there so you don't have to remove the distributor. mark it first before you turn it though!!!
