RE: ABS turns off
Yah, I was going to say that, they are called ANTI-lock brakes for a reason...
The concept is that ABS will keep your wheels from locking up so you would maintain steering control of the car in a sudden stop, and it generally decreases the amount of space needed to stop the car. ABS shouldn't be locking up your brakes no matter what. I have no clue what can be wrong with the car. Not to mention, if it is a 1993 or before Mustang, we never had ABS to begin with, I'm not sure about 1994 and 1995 5.0's...
Also, if you changed the size of your wheels, that would screw up ABS.

RE: ABS turns off
i think 90-93 had abs and airbags, i would say its a striped wire or something because it sounds like when ever the car bounces it triggers it to do that, it might be a broken sensor somewhere it may look ok but it might not be.

Right, because when the ABS moduel stops seeing a signal, it's going to think that that wheel has locked up.

RE: ABS turns off
I have a 1992, and it does not have ABS... If I slam on the brakes it will lock up.
BTW, if it senses a wheel locking up, why would it proceed to lock them up for real? You understand what I'm asking? He's saying it'll lock up the wheels. Why would the anti-lock brakes lock up the wheels in response to thinking the wheels are already locked up? It would actually free up the brakes a bit to allow the wheel to spin...

RE: ABS turns off
I stated that it will think that the wheel has locked up, not lock that wheel, up. If it were me, I'd pull the ABS fuse and call it a day. The only time ABS has come in handy for me was in winter, and I wouldn't drive a stang in the winter...then you wouldn't have to wory about the brake mysteriously locking up.
