Default Tires

Im going together with my car in a couple of weeks and I have to buy 4 new tires. I have a 88 mustang gt and the stock tire size is 225/60/15. I need a good tire size combination because I want the back tires to be a little wider. If there is another tire that is being run on the fox body besides the 225/60/15 let me know. Might even try a 16' tire if that is something popular to do. I want the front tire in a 15 or 16 inch tire and I want the back tire to be the same sizejustwider. Any ideas will be welcome and it would be nice to know a good, inexpensive, z rated tire brand also.

The pony rims are 16 inch and you can run up to a 255 50 16 with tight inner tailpipe clearence....I ran a 245 50 15 bfg on a 15 inch 10 hole set up and they lookedwide on the back with 205 60 15's up front. With my 16 inch pony rims on my 92 right now, I have 245 50 16's on the rear and 225 55 16's on the front and it looks good

retaining stock tire diameter, the best fit for pony rims is 245/50/16... but if you want drag radials.. youll be stuck with a 255/50/16

245/50/15 bfg drag radials.... good one... thats 1" too short
205/60/15... good lord... go kart tires

tires that retain stock diameter are
225/60/15
275/50/15
225/55/16
245/50/16
245/45/17
275/40/17
315/35/17

they dont fit on a fox, and your traction will decrease.... dont go bigger than 275/40/17
