WHATS THE HP GAIN STOCK TO GT40 HEADS
deck man do some searching. 96 and early 97 5.0s in explorers came with the exact same heads as a 93-95 cobra. the 97 1/4 5.0s have the gtps which will raise a stock 5.0 up to 9.6 cr. i have 98 heads
stock headers ill work but its how the plugs line up. some tubes maybe in the way of the plugs so maybe need a different plug boot.
now for his question. youll gain some performance cause of the size of the valves being 184/160 i think but the gtps are 184/same as stock e7s for exhaust. but dont think youll see that much of a gain if you leave them stock. now ported yes youll see a gain

all this talk about GT40 heads. will they bolt on any 5.0? I have an 1985 5.0GT bored .30 roller racing cam 10.5:1 comp. flat top pistons, but havnt touched the heads.What do you think???
I just swapped in a 96 explorer engine. The heads say gt on the upper right side and have three notches on the back. These are not gt40p? and regular gt40? i dont understand i was told they were gtp. which one is better?
I just got a great idea. Maybe i can go to a junk yard and find some GT40 heads off of an old explorer. Do you this will be easy to do and which type of GT40 heads should i look for?
