ok i did the vip test...i made sure theignition was on, battery charged, andit was grounded goodwhen i was touching the fuel pump trigger prong....and the relay is not kicking on...i tried both ccrms that i have...does the power that goes to the vip come from the ccrm?? because i used a test light and none of the prongs on thevip connecterhad any power going to them

thanks for the help so far guys

Do this:

Start the engine and let it idle. While it's idling, grab and jiggle the harness between the ECM and the CCRM. If the engine stumbles at all, you've got a short in the wire going to pin 22. If it runs fine, gently tap the handle of a large screwdriver against the CCRM. If this causes a stumble, replace the CCRM. If everything is still fine, replace the fuel pump relay.

*insert* i dont think he understood about our fuel pump relay being part of the ccrm so just forget that part....he then wrote this after i tried all that*

First though, do what I outlined above, including replacing the fuel pump relay if jiggling the harness doesn't cause a stumble. If, after doing all that, and replacing the fuel pump relay, you still have a problem, then do the following four steps...

1) With Key OFF, disconnect the CCRM, and measure the resistance of CCRM between pins 18 and 24.

It should be between 65 and 120 ohms. If it's not, replace the CCRM. If it is, then you need to check the continuity of the fuel pump circuit....

2) With Key OFF, and CCRM disconnected, disconnect the ECM at the 60 pin connector. Measure the resistance between pin 22 at the 60 pin connector, and pin 18 at the CCRM harness connector.

The resistance should be less than 5 ohms. If it's not, there's an open in the wire between those two pins, and you must find and repair it. If the resistance is less than 5 ohms, you need to check the fuel pump circuit for a short to power...

3) With the CCRM disconnected, and the ECM disconnected, turn the key ON, and measure the voltage between the negative battery post, and pin 22 in the 60 pin harness connector.

The voltage should be less than 1 volt. If it's not, the wire that goes to the 22 pin is shorted to power somewhere, and you need to find and fix it. If the voltage is less than 1 volt, then you need to check the fuel pump circuit for a short to ground...

4) With the CCRM disconnected, and the ECM disconnected, and the key OFF, measure the resistance between pin 22 and the negative battery post. The resistance should be greater than 10k ohms. If it isn't, the wire that goes to pin 22 is shorted to ground somewhere, and you must find and repair it. If the resistance is greater than 10k ohms, the ECM is bad, and must be replaced.

The CCRM pinout diagram is OK, but the wiring diagram is not from a SN95....... if the internal relay is not working, check the power sources (hot at all times & IGN ON wires) using aode06 pinout attachment and the diagram below + make sure the EEC ground cable (round connector behind the battery) is connected and with a good contact.to the fender apron.

ok the vip test does notclick the fuel pumprelay on in the ccrm...i tested the resistence of pins 18 and 24 on both of the ccrms that I have...both of them had almost no resistance <1 ....I also watned to know if the pin 24is supposed to have power to it when the ignition is on

also.. common on the sn95's are the ground cables failing. Turn your key on and go over to your battery. Grab and shake the ground cable going from the battery to the body right there as well as the other ground cables going along side the battery. If you shake them while the key is on and you can here the ccrm "click.. not click" on off on off to when you move the ground cables.. you have found your problem. I have just seen this same scenario alot and this be the final cause. hard to pick out but it may be it.

Hey dude, i had the same problem with my 86 when i bought it, driving down the road and my car just quit running, no pump no nothing, come to find out with some help from a friend that i had no spark to go with no fuel, here it was a badEEC relay for the computer. Bought a new one at the ford dealer and haven't had a problem since. So i don't know if you did a new EEC relay or not, if you didn't i'd try it!

start by checking Fusible Link "D"

where is the fusible link D at on a sn95? do you mean one of fuses? i checked everything going into the ccrm....battery to fuses to ccrm....then everything going fronm the ccrm to the pump is good....its just power is not going through that relay in the ccrm and it will not kick on...im going to try a second ccrm that i can get from a friend.. and possibley try his pcm to see if it will turn the relay on

Also does anyone know if the pin 24 (pcm power)on the ccrm is supposed to have power to it when the ingnition is on? becasue mine does not
