Timing/water pump stud

Timing/water pump stud
I started working on this 302 I have, redoing the gaskets on it, well I noticed that one of the studs that work both as the timing cover and waterpump holds, is broke, and is pretty rusted to the block for that matter. I have been thumbing threw some catalogs and I haven't been able to find a replacement one or set, anyone have a idea where I can look?

try one of the resto places like 5.0resto i thinks its www.50resto.com if all else fails, just use a stud from the hardware store and some nuts. I have used threaded rod on my car before on my intake because the stock bolts would not work with my spacer. Good Luck

If you have an extractor set it should tell you which size drill bit to use. Also make sure you drill straight and dont snap off the extractor. Then you will have to take it to a machine shop.

Not true i say dont even play with the extractor they suck, i just used a little smaller drill bit and drilled it out but DO NOT MAKE THE WHOLE BIGGER it is ok if it is a little smaller when you thead it the rest of the bolt should crack out. also start with a small drill bit and try to make it as centered as possable on the old bolt.
