Default Head Gaskets

reinstalling my E7 factory heads this week, after my arp bolts show up, still saving up for the AFR heads, so the factory ones will have to do, anyway, is there any thing special I should do to the gaskets before installing them? I have read stuff about painting them with aluminium paint, and even gasket maker, and others have said just leave them as is "dry" and do the torque seq.

What do you all do or have done?

put the head gaskets on dry and do the head torquing in three steps following the tightening sequence starting in the middle and working out to the ends of the heads.
