today i discovered the hard way that there is also no electricity to the coil.

that sucks i had the same **** happen once in the middle of not a good part of detroit. wasnt good to be stuck there, we just pushed the car and i poped the clutch to drive it before it died again, had to do it about 10 times before i got home but it all worked out, turned out to be the starter cylanoid, try taking a screw driver and connecting the two bolts and see if it starts(with the key in and in neutral). its worth a try like 10 bucks to fix.

If you mean no voltage at the (+) wire at the coil connector, check either the red wire at any of the injector connectors and/or pin #3 at the TFI module with key in IGN ON.... if no voltage is present...... the problem could be a faulty ignition switch.

Do I have to pull the distributer to change the ICM?
what is TFI?

tfi is short for thin film ignition.. its the type of module.
get a new ignition control module, and pop it in there... if you are still having problems, its the pickup coil in the disty
however the pickup coil is a more random event, if it only happens when the car gets warm, its more then likely, the TFI

ok so i can get the front top bolt out of the module but the back one is blocked, do I have to pull the distributer? or can I just pull it outa few inches to get to the bolt? I really don't wanna take it completely out b/c idk what I'm doing if it dosn't go back in.

I hope you used alot of thick film grease on the new one.
I keep AAA on the speed dial.
You leave a fox, that nice parked, its likely to get stolen, even if you had to push bumper the dam thing, home, least you have a car.
