I'm definately painting my car black ( see signature below). The question I have is this. On the groud effects there's a strip that goes all the way around the body, should I paint the stripe red or leave it black, and keep the whole car a nice sleak black color?</P>

You can paint it, alot of people do, but down the road in a few years it will probably start peeling off, but I use the word *probably* since it is molding, but I have yet to see anyone's peel off yet

My car has been painted. I don't know if you know what a stock '86 GT should look like but it was red with black trim and the trim was painted to match the new paint and three years later, there's some minute amounts of peeling and cracking, very unnoticable, yet as the owner, annoying.

well i have an 86 mustang gt and i dunno what your wanting to know what looks stock but umm the car would be painted w/e color and the lil hood scoop part would be black and the trim would be black all the way around. is that what u wanted to know? thats stock though
