Default Diff Play

well my car makes this clunking sound now and it does it when i drive

so i got under neath it and the rear end clunks when i turn the wheels

then i started moving the driveshaft and it clunks

i believe that its the u-joint and bearing in the differential

does anyone have any other ideas?

or is there a good writeup on how to change the bearing?

Take the drive shaft out, and check the joints for play, first and foremost. It might just be that simple.

On a side note, your sig is too big. 500x250 is our allowable size.

Thanks and welcome to our forum.

alright, so i took off the driveshaft today. The disc that the driveshaft bolts to has alot of play in it. i dont think that it is normal. i can move it about 15-20 degrees before it engages the rear wheels. and when i turn the disc its easy to turn but in a certain spot it gets a little difficult then it goes easy again like there is something binding.

any ideas would be appreciated
