Default Gas milage question?

I was just wondering what parts make some of you guys on here get bad gas milage? Im just wondering because i have a 94 gt with 410s and i still average around 18mpg. Is it the parts that you guys have on your cars or is it your driving habits? And awhile back when i was inquiring about h/c/i questions some of you said that that wount necisarly affect my gas milage. So to make it simle i was just wondering why some of your guys cars arent the best on gas.
