Default Drag spool vs Locker

Who has had experience with a straight spool as a rear end carrier. I have read some people say that there is very little noticable issues from using a spool vs something likea locker or limited. Is the trade off of less efficient cornering vs 100% traction on a launch worth it? What do you guys think??

I have a Moser full spool, but i dont drive it very often. When i do drive it i can tell a diff between that and a locker or limited. If you drive car often i probably would not use a spool.

But is the inconvenience of the spool worth the cheaper price?? To you that is.

I have a Richmond Powertrax locker in mine, basically when you go straight or step on the throttle it locks up, when you turn and are just cruising through the turn and not accelerating much it unlocks for full differentiation. Great in a straight line, but it can be cranky sometimes in low speed tight radius turns such as in parking lots. Definately has no traction problems though, but I may go with a Detroit Tru-Trac in the future

I like the spool and i think it is worth it. I was just saying if i drove my car often i would not have it. Any slight turning from low speed it is very noticable. I believe it put's more stress on the axle carriers, that's why i have my axle tube's welded and i also run c-clip eleminators although that has nothing to do with me having a spool.
