dont torch it...
i put the car in the air, turned the wheel so the bolts would be facing up
got about 2 feet in extensions and pulled really f*ing hard lol.
it was a pain but they eventually came loose

you cannot remove the column and the steering shaft in one piece.. I think you need to just step back, figure out wtf you are doing... and take some pictures of where you are hung up.
