Hmmm I've never encountered a fast stock lt1 vette or camaro. They run decent, but 4.6 mustangs put up a better fight than they do. Ls1 camaro's are in a whole different leage, they give me a pretty good run. One of those on your bumper races.
I don't see any reason why he couldn't beat one. My friend with his '86 GT with only long tubes (5 spd) has raced & beat a '94 & '96 z28. With me in the passenger seat. They don't really impress me in stock form. They can be pretty mean when built, but what engine isn't

k thanks guys for the help....i will buy a radiator cap and a t-stat...and the camaro was a 94 lt1 with pipes and big tires..i couldnt really hear his shifting skills cause iw as in powershiftin mode myself...but hialrious story with the cavalier....anyways thanks alot..and about the tailshift seal...when i do that..is there a plug that i can add in more tranny fluid..i prob lost a 1/4 of a quart of fluid.....let me know thanks..!
You can either take the 4 bolts off the shifter & pour it in the top, but doing it that way you wont be able to tell the fluid level. There are two plugs in the side of the trans case on the passenger side. One is for draining, one is for filling. It's best to do it this way so you can get the right amount of fluid in. Anyway, what I do is put a garden hose in the hole & tape a funnel to the other end. Stab the hose into the trans & hold the other end higher than the transmission.

I fill mine to about 1/2 " below the top hole. sticking my pinky finger in & seeing where the fluid level is.

No, a cracked fanshroud is better than no fan shroud.
