Hey Roundman- I have Q's!!
Hey Roundman,
Before I start, if anyone else reads this please don't take offense if you've helped me out before and catch me here seeking out roundman =P I don't appreciate you guys' help any less its just that he kinda has given me what I've specifically looked for a few times =)
Roundman, I bought an MSD cap and an MSD rotor and a set of MSD heli-core spark plug wires that are 8.00mm, I got those because I wanted blue ones and the blue one's only come in 8mm- are the red ones that are 8.5mm alot better? because if the .5 makes a difference, I'll go with those.
I also wanted to ask you if you could tell me the best way to run my spark plug wires, as far as placement and length- and do you know how to setup the terminals? because my wireset comes with standard terminals and dual crimp terminals.
The standard terminals say that I have to bend the conductor back and then crimp- I won't be using the standard terminals, I'll be using the dual crimp terminals- do I fold the conductor back on those too? or do I leave it straight? and if I do leave it straight- do I have to make sure that the conductor doesn't protrude at all beyond the conductor crimp tabs or does it matter at all?
Also, what kind of spark plugs do you recommend? I was going to use autolite platinums but someone told me they are bad and told me to get autolite 25's, which I did do- I just want your opinion...
Thanks alot

RE: Hey Roundman- I have Q's!!
sorry but I can't tell you how to crimp the double crimp terminals as I haven't made up a set of plugs wires in so long I really don't have a clue how to do this. doesn't the MSD website have instructions for this there??? I would look there first.
I wouldn't lose any sleep over the .5 mm difference in wires either unless they could tell me that the bigger wires are rated to handle a lot more exhaust heat near the headers. and route the wires to keep them away from as much heat as possible, especially from the headers. you can buy all kinds of different spark plug wire looms and hangers to help you position them and keep them from moving around. I don't see much benefit from platimun plugs so I would go with the right heat range Autolites myself although right now I've got a set of Accel shorty plugs in mine to give me more header clearance and they seem to work fine.

Cool!
I bought this railing sort of things today that is made for the spark plug wires, the thing screws into the bolts on the valve covers( I bought some sweet *** valve covers too! =P ) and it allows you to divide the spark plug wires in 1 ,2 ,3 ,4.... its pretty cool, i'll show you guys some pics!
I'll check MSD for the crimping thing- I changed my wires today anyhow, lol I got the red ones 8.5, the wires are about 1/16 to an 1/8 thicker than the blue ones so it should help with the heat issue...
Thanks roundman
