e303 woes...
does anyone know a cure for the "searching" idle of the e303. I'm getting tired of it. i read about a iac spacer plate thing, but not sure if its worth the money.
could my c&l w/ 24lb sample tube be the problem??? i've heard stories...
anyone???

The searching idle is not a cam issue, it does make it worse when present, but it's not caused by the cam. You need to set the system right + make sure you don't have any failures (codes) that could be causing it. Start with the DIY KOEO/KOER/Cylinder Balance Self-Test and a base idle reset (check the link at the end of the KOEO/KOER self-test page)...... if you have problems with A/F control, vacuum leaks, hard failure codes.....those are the ones that need to be fixed.
After you run the tests Joel mentioned, get some TB cleaner and clean out your IAC valve....use a small brush too. Also, check your TPS voltage and set your idle screw on the TB.
I'm running the E cam and had similar issues. I did the above and it made a big difference. It idles well at 6-700 rpm now. Also, you might try clocking your MAF. Depending on your intake/CAI setup, a bend right before the MAF can mess w/ the readings. You may have to rotate it until you find the "sweet spot."

welli'm running a 76mm C&L mam w/ 24lb tube and a flow tube, stock airbox with k&n filter. i cleaned out the iac and tb a couple weeks ago. my buddy just said he has a little throttle plate thing, so i'm going to give that a shot and see what happens
I have the IAC plate from STEEDA, if you do install it, don't clean the IAC anymore. Both of my set screws on the plate are all the way in (lowest RPM setting), the throttle adjuster screw is not touching the throttle stop, I run about 800-900 RPM and that's as low as I can get it.
I have the spacer plate for the IAC as well, but I'm not using it. It's installed, but the screws are all the way out to where they aren't blocking anything and my idle is fine. I would try cleaning the MAF element before spending $$ on anything else.
