if your using stock pistons then you will need to notch em with patriot heads, also the only trickflow cam you can run without notching is the stage 1.

can you explain what notching them means? if i just get an upper and lower intake a cam and some injectors with mass air meter will i notice a big difference?

i was thinking the e303 cam or f cam, 24 pound injectors with 70mm mass air and a trickflow upper and lower or typhoon

That 'lift crap' that you post about is very important to make a SBF run good.
You probably need to go onto Comp Cams site and study some about camshaft selection..........

means you need to get a special tool and cut into your pistons to make sure the valves dont hit them since the patriot heads have 2.02 intake valves.

If you don't want to notch your pistons there are plenty of other head choices you'd probably be happy with.

if you have the time and money notch your pistons and graba trick flow stage 2 cam along with 1.7 rollerrockers on the exhast side and 1.6 on the intake. also star off with a cobra or a typhoon intake along with push rods fms lifters and 24 lbs injectors and you will fiil the differance.

I agree w/ Tinman; you should definitely go do a little research so that you know what you're looking for and dealing with.
