little question....
Well might be able to start some work on my fox-body.It is a 100% stock motor with just a CAI and 165k miles. So my brother got a cherry picker from his wife for christmas so now we both have a way to actually get the motors out to work on, and I have a enginie stand to work with as well. So my question is, I want to freshen up the motor, maybe something along the lines of replacing all the seals and stuff like that. Budget is fairly tight but I am not in a rush since the car is not the DD and my brother and I are going to do the work ourselves to save a little money as well as a learning experience. So the question is, what would you guys suggest? Should I buy a gasket set and replace all the main gaskets for the motor? Any ideas on some part changes keeping in mind I can't spend $1k on new heads or anything like that, maybe later on. Just want to do something to add a little life to the motor...so bring on the suggestions......
i personally would get a nice cheap h/c/i setup with obviously all new gaskets and timing chain etc. You can do a pretty nice h/c/i setup for around 1200. Im looking at going with gt40 upper and lower, gt40p's, obviously new plugs, new headers, injectors, tfs 1 cam and the gaskets, and a trickflow spring kit. If you shop around you can get some good deals on used parts.
