yeah I know... no issues... I like the simplicity and old school carb'd...... and yeah I hear ya... more upgrades to come down the road.. had a set amt to spend... stopping there and will get other parts as funds come available.. lol..... it is an addictive hobby... lol...... in the up coming year will be nice ported heads and likely a different cam.... some other stuff for sure... not exactly sure yet... then will come a stroker kit... most likely a 331 over the 347 heard good and bad about the 347 but more bad then good...

There are people on both sides of the carb vs efi... My buddy runs nothing but carb'd and all his friends too... (one guy is nitrous fed from start to finish, and he is Turbo with a blow through carb on a 351....) I kind of want to stay wiht the 302 block... and I dont want to go with the stroke of the 347 would love the cubes but dont think the stock block can handle it all that well..... and I would be happy with 300 from the motor and 150 shot..... that will work for now... lol

Thanks guys for the input...

You need to call Jim a ford strokers and clear up the past issues of s 347 they are fallacies now and misconceptions!! I have living proof of a 347 in my shop right now...gut has close to 100k on it and it's not baby'ed and it is one mean set up and it's a daily driven street car

hummm well... I may have to revisit the 347..... it will be a semi-daily driver...basically when ever I want to... couple times a week etc.....

whats the cost of having the engine machine work done typically?

to be honest...there are no two ways to short cut a 347 and have a local machine shop do it right....I paid 1800.00 for my 347 short block from ford strokers.com due in soon and it comes with a stud girdle....he degrees cam for free and double checks all clearances and clearances the short block and uses quality probe stroker kits with forged pistons and rods and cast steel crank.....and balances entire assembley...when it's all said and done you won't save any money at a local machine shop....his work is exceptional to none...my friend was sconvinced to do a 331 and nothing I coulod do would change his mind ..cause he had all the same concerns you have about a 347..after talking to Jim at ford strokers he now is ordering a 347 from him...check 'em out!!!
