this is in the 88? Now when you tested the pass door was the drivers door open? Does the dome light come on with the pass door?

it should not need to have the door triggers seperated, they did not start that till much later. The drivers door will have to be shut when testing the pass door. If the dome light does not come on with the pass door you could have a bad door trigger.

I dont know wtf is going on now...
There are two black w/ blue wire in the drivers kick panel.
A big one and a small one.
The big one is ~ 12 guage and doesnt change with door at all.
The small one is like 14 or 16 guage. It does change. It runs down from the dash and into a black connector. (this connector has about 20 connections but i didnt count exactly.) The black w/ blue is in the 3rd from end.

Ok here is what i tested.

FOR ALL TESTS THIS IS HOW I WAS HOOKED UP.
black probe to ground. red probe to black and blue wire.
Set to DCV
1. driver door open.
reads 11.38v
2. THIS IS WHERE I LOST MY MIND. I closed the door and the wire voltage droped to 1.03 and every second it droped a hundredth of a volt and settled at 0.77v.

3. Then i left the driver closed and walked around to the passanger side. Opened the door and the light did come on. but nothing changed on the meter. Still reading 0.77v

WHAT IS GOING ON????

PLEASE HELP. I feel retarted. This wire should have been the easiest to connect.

well it sounds like you have everything done right and everything I can find on the car says to hit that wire in the kick, or to try it at the courtesy light switch(the dimmer light). Try it there and see what you get?
