83GT, im sorry bub - but when you want low end *** ripping power for 4x4's, large trucks, or anything else that needs real grunt you DONT use a 302.
you use a 300 I6, a 351, a 460, 360 or 360. you DONT use a 302 (or 289 for that matter)
and btw, modular motors are f*cking worthless. 4v this, add a blower that, blah blah blah. the bore spacing too tight and the bores are too small. not to mention the bicycle chains they have running the cam gears.

With what I've been reading about the new Kaase 428 hemi heads coming out soon, I have a feeling we will be seeing some serious speed out of some cars, I think in a stroked 460 stock block on pump gas it did 901 hp.....thats getting it done.

RE: 390 engin into 1990 5.0??
I tell you what, being the owner of a 390 69 torino, I can tell you the gobs of torque at the low end is great, but it dont like to be spun past 6 at all, which is perfect for the street. the problem becomes mods. the only aluminum heads othre than the edelcrap are blue thunder, and they get quite expensive. I can tell you that a nice solid cam goes a looooong way for these motors. the power is not necessarily what these motors were made for, more for torque. if you get the C1 heads I believe, someone correct me if wrong, the ones of the 61 390's and a nice solid cam on an intake to match andsome decent compression, stock is 10 or soto 1 so 11.5-12 to 1which is still pump you will have a NASTY motor on ur hands.. good luck. it will be expensive.

The FE was introduced in 1958 as 332 and 352 displacements. They grew into 360, 361, 390, 391, 406, 410, 427 and 428s.

370 and 429 truck motors are not 385 Series.
429/460 are 385 series as is the 514 SVO engine.
I think you can run a 390 manual flywheel on a 460, but that's about it as far as interchangeability except for Ford Blue paint .
FE stands for Ford Edsel which they were introduced for. A Larger, better version of the Y-block 272,292,312.
Fitment and exhaust will be the main problem. There are many 460 motor mount kits and headers available for the swap, but nothing I have seen for a FE engine in a fox body. I'm sure with a motor plate it could be mounted and someone like Kooks headers could probably cusom make a set of headers.
