Well, it's most likelya cable or pressure plate problem

What clutch do you have? Some are harder to push in than others.

That would depend on if it's the cable or the pressure plate. How many miles and has it been sitting a while?

If you still have the stock plastic garbage it sure as he77 wont hurt. Disconnect your clutch cable and work it back and forth to see if it binds. If the car has been sitting the cable may be frozen.
Also another possibility may beyour throw out bearing may be binding on the grooved up throw out bearing retainer.

I don't know how or why but new clutch's seem to be easier to push that old ones. That is when replacing the old one with a same one. Old King Cobra to new King Cobra, stock to stock and even seen this on other cars like fwd's etc.

I think it may be the leverage increasing on the fingers as the pressure plate gets closer to the flywheel. Or the finger pivot points, the fork etc loose their lubrication.

Another time on my 93 LX. I removed a perfectly good appearing cable to lube up, just as maintenance. It felt nice and looked great but the casing had some ugliness due to being close to my long tube headers.

I ended up replacing it with a new one and it felt like the pressure plate was a couple hundred pounds less.

If you need a number to put on that. My 2300lbs plate felt like 2500lbs, after the new cable the 2300lbs piece felt like 2300lbs.
