new here, 5.0 question
ok so i just bought a 94 gt, that has 4.10s, ram clutch, m/t drag radials, under the hood is edelbrock performer rpm heads, x303 cam, headers, and everything else stock except for the cold air intake... here is the deal. and i know this is unethical but when the mass air is plugged up the car idles smoothly at about 1000 rpm. but it will NOT run(slow). un plug the mass air and it sounds like its got a .700 lift cam, idles at about 700-800 rpm, and runs MUCH better. what im wanting to know is what i need to do to make the car run good with the mass air plugged up. i know i need an intake manifold and bigger mass air but what about the program... do i need to do a ecu tune? cant seem to find anything on it.. any suggestions are welcome.
thanks

RE: new here, 5.0 question
You can try and check out the maf volts and replace it if the stock is still in there, but you might just need a tune, id like to know why in the hell he put an x cam in without heads or an x cam at all for that matter in that car. 94's are touchy with cams.

hmmmm.. that's an interesting combo with stock intake I assume??....hmmm first thing would be to get a better intake and have a tune performed that'll deal with idle surge and help it run better

"and everything else stock except for the cold air intake" does it hav ethe stock H pipe on it?
when I changed my stock h-pipe to an X-pipe it was like night and day
and u need a tune!
something tells me if you keep running with that maf unplugged youll need a new engine

RE: new here, 5.0 question
thats my question... what do i need to do about a tune? i cant seem to find any programmers for the 94-95s... just go to the local dyno shop and let them tune it? and yes it has the stock H pipe and flowmasters... guess that is one thing i could change..
