Default Freeze Plugs?

Where are the freeze plugs located on a 302 block? My friend says they should be up close to where the heads bolt on but I'm not positive, I wanna know what they are and what they look like before I start attempting to pound these things out. Thanks for any advice!

Default RE: Freeze Plugs?

They are in the middle of the sides and front of the block between the deck and bottom of the block. And why do you want to pound them out?
