Default e-brake problem.

Hey guys,

I went to use my e-brake last night and it wasn't working. I would pull the arm up but it would just go back down. After looking at it for a sec I realized why. If you've ever looked at ur e-brake handle you'll see that the arm stays up because theres a stationary gear at the bottom of the arm and the arm has a hook that grabs the teeth and hooks into them. So as you pull up, the hook hooks into teeth higher and higher up to hold the arm in place. Then when you press the button it releases the hook and lets the arm go back down. However the hook needs something to help it engage and hook onto the teeth. This is done by a littls spring that wraps around the front of the hook and goes into a groove behind the e-brake handle. Does anyone know the spring i'm talking about? Well if so, mine broke. So were can I get a new one?[/align]

You have to buy a complete unit. You can't get just the spring.

My e-brake has something wrong with it too. It works fine but it leans to the left towards the ashtray.

Thats what i've heard, but it seems pretty dumb. My unit works just fine otherwise, I just need that spring. I'm completely able to put the spring back in too, I just need a new one. Hell I might just go grab a big thickindustrial rubber band, and stick it in in place of the spring. It'll do the same thing. lol
