Default dead spot in power

hey so i got a bit of a problem i cant seem to figure out. the car was sputtering and popping and backfiring last week so i dropped the timing back down to about 10* and it quit backfiring so but it still kept poping and hesitating real bad. so i did the fuel filter today and it helped quite a bit.
Right up until about 3/4 throttle it pulls good and runs great, but if i put it to the floor it just cuts out feels like no power. so
i think its runnning outta fuel so im thinking either the injectors are clogged or the fuel pump is getting tired and not keeping up.
what kind and how big could go as far as a new fuel pump goes??

thanks
