emmisions numbers....
Last time i tried for inspection i had failed emissions miserbly, but sort of expected it. I had a cylinder getting oil in it and not firing, because ofa bad ring and my numbers were as followed...(parenthesis is the limit, first is my readings.)
HC - 10.03 (2.00)
CO - 92.31 (30.00)
CO2 - 0.98 (3.00)
Now i've recently clean the whole engine up and have replaced the rings and the cars running smooth. I really dont feel like risking it to fail again, but will both of those numbers drop significantly if everythings runnign smoothly? Also should i try adding some acetone? There was a thread on that going around and im leaning towards it? Any comments or advice? I'll also try the hey give you ten bucks to throw you car up there, but if that doenst work i need to figure something out. Thanks in advance.

RE: emmisions numbers....
just go take it is..as long as all emissions components are hooked up and functional and timing is set to factory spec and you have no codes in ecm that'll indicate a prob.. then the car should have lower numbers

set it to stock 10 degrees and the air pump missing won't affect emmissions output ..it's just used to heat cat's up on cold start up to bring them online and reduce emissions quicker......but a missing egr valve will affect NOX....
