Default 5.0 in a 65-70?

I've got an 86 GT with an 88 5.0 motor. I've got rust everywheer, but the motor is good. I want to pick up a first gen mustang-preferably a 69 if i can (not a big thing if i cant though). I was wondering how easy it is to throw the newer 5.0 blocks into these cars. I would definitely convert to carb with the swap-probably a 650 cfm edelbrock and a torker II manifold and some nice cam with heads. But is the swap easy. Does everything line up. Im assuming the mounts would eb the same since the 289s and 302s were the same blocks-but then again im just assuming. Thanks for any input ahead of time.

Correct, everything should work good with a 69
