Hey guys... a little advice he
I think I have narrowed down my next move. I'm going to put in 3.73's, pulleys and headers. My question(s) are: Is a Richmond gear OK? I have heard to only use Ford Motorsport... and def. not Motive. I can get a good deal on a Richmond. I also found a good deal on a set of MAC equal-length shorties. Do they bolt on as easy as some of the others? Also my factory H-Pipe has the 2 big cats removed and the 2 pre-cats gutted. Is there really a need for an aftermarket H-Pipe?

if you are gonna do them yourself and know what your doing it doesnt matter what kind you use. and richmond makes ford racing. they just buy them from them. i work at a ford dealership so. equal are alittle bhit haredr to get on than the unequal and its definatly a good idea for a new h-pipe. i got the bbk off road with no cats and it makes the car sopund nasty with the flowmasters and the bbk unequal headers. its a must. x-pipe cost alot more for 1-3 hp gain over the h-pipe. plus they sound meaner.

The main reason people choose the motorsport is because 99/100 you don't have to worry about gear whine due to improper setup of the gears. The FMS gears can virtually always just be a bolt in where as with richmond or other gears you really only want someone who know what their doing setting them up. Improper pinion depth is a bad thing

Richmod is probably better than FMS but all I would ever use myself is the FMS. Also even though your cats are gutted an aftermarketh or x pipe will still flow alot better, not to mention your stock exhaust size is 2 1/4 which is quite small
