Default fuel pump issue

ok so the red/black wire on the fuel pump relay does not have power but all the other wires do, so i need a new relay, but for now i jumped the wires. my new question is my fuel pump isnt turning on but i have power at it... i took it off and connected it to the battery and it worked fine. its a summit efi pump and i have a2nd relay that i added. the red/black stockfuel pump ignition wiregoes to the relay.the pump has power at the terminal but it is not turning on....
suggestions?

Default RE: fuel pump issue

there should be four wires to your relay. 2 of them are ground and one is Hot all the time and the other is Hot when the key is turned forward. To get the problem, you may want to try to make sure you have a Good ground for the fuel pump. My 93' didthe exact same thing, and I came to find out my ground wire on the end of the pigtail where it goes into the pump was loose or losing connection, therefore my ground was weak. Also you may want to try to tighten up you connectors where the actual relay goes into. These will sometimes get loose or even gap open and make a weak connection.Just take a knife or a thin screwdriver and press each terminal individually to try to tighten the ends up and see what that gives you. Not the best advice but I know this was alot of my problem, and I hope itwill help you out. Let us know !!
