i have a 89 mustang lx 5.0, i just replaced the transmission because the one i had was shot, its an automatic from a 88 5.0 the entire thing bolted on fine but the connectors from the 88 transmission wont connect to the fittings in the 89 from the wiring harness thing...any ideas?

maybe because the '88 was speed density

not sure what you can do though ?

are the wires the same color ? just the connector is different ?

you might need to get a wiring diagram from the tranny for each year to see whats what, and hard wire it.

to be honest with you i didn't even notice if the wires were the same color, i guess if it comes down to it that would be the last ditch effort to get the wires hooked up
