no !! they are electronically controled trannies on an explorer

The eletronic tranny control features in the Explores PCM could be turned off to allow the use of an AOD.
But No. Not easy, not cheap and a waste of time. Just get the original tranny rebuilt.

except for the fact you'd still be left with the issue of the bellhousing on the aod not being compatible to a 4.0[&:] and there is the fact of the info from the tcm supplying/sharing info to the pcm via the CAN network to operate and calculate various other functions such as speed signals to ecm ect ect.......
