my friend has a stock bottom end with a z303 he has stock heads all worked to the max,intake an hp carb...........how thick of a head gasket should he get to fix the clearence issue,also hes spraying the car so the whole compression thing shouldnt matter?also whats the max lift you can have in a stock bottom end

lift has nothing to do with ptv and if your friend wants to correct the issue a thicker head gasket is not the answer...notching the pistons is
